where would I be without?

GALA!!!

I swear I've fallen madly in love with this woman...she is SUCH an inspiration to me and JUST read her recent entry about Febuary being Radical Self Love month!!

it is something that I have struggled with all my life..as most of you, my dear freinds know already. My weight, my height, my boob size, my face, my shape...there's always SOMETHING I constantly gripe about on a daily basis.
so..I have decided to go to rehab...stop saying no no no.....and LOVE MYSELF!!! HOO RAH!!!

This isn't going to be an easy task and I don't want to get to the point where I mistake self love for over confident snobby stuck-upness...that would be scary and counter productive. I want to be able to look in the mirror everyday and say " DAYUM!" not " damn....." if u know what I mean.
I want to be able to make friends with girls and not compare myself to them..loathing what I have too much or not enough of ( can you believe I even obsess over my collar bones?..it's insane!) and most of all..I want to be able to establish relationships with the opposite sex...without blaming myself or my looks if something goes wrong with that relationship. I know this process is gonna be long...and I may slip up and eat something and gripe for the rest of the day about eating it..or glare at a girl and wish I looked like her....the cycle is deadly.

Gala..you are my heroin..I'm SO excited for what you have in store..and I can't wait to do my homework ( for once I'm Excited about homework!!)

RADICAL SELF LOVE MONTH WOOT WOOT!!

Can AA girls use J products?.....find out here!

well of course it depends on your skin type..and it's mostly as with any product trial and error..but in the recent weeks I have found that these Japanese products are doing pretty good for my hair and skin...yay!

let me start with Shiseido's Tsubaki Shampoo and Conditioner.

the main ingredient in this is Camellia Flower or Tsubaki ( in Japanese) oil..which is highly appraised for its moisturizing, nutrient rich properties such as olein acids and glycerides which help to soften and smooth the hair and skin and helping to prevent split ends and care for damaged, course hair....keyword here...course lol.

after doing research on various sites, asking Japanese friends..and even taking it upon myself to consult with Japanese hair care specialists to get an insight on whether this would be good for me...pretty much it all boils down to " u just gotta try and see"

I've been using it for two weeks....and....I am pleased...very pleased.

I took this pic before heading out to Shibuya over the weekend...it was a nice experience with almost no fly aways.
I plan on buying 100% Camellia Oil to use as a hot oil treatment once every 2 weeks....cause it feels darn good...so..Japanese Shampoo and Conditioner..OK desu!!

now.....on to Skincare.

I was strolling throughout the town of Ontakesan and came upon this little shop with lots of perfumes and shampoos and stuff jumbled around..I went inside and these pretty women were prancing around handing out samples and bowed and greeted me..I asked one of the ladies in Jaapnese " Is this store mainly for skin and hair care?" she was shocked of course and then said " yes, I can help with whatever you like" and flashed her cosmetology license..nice one girl lol.

I explained to her my skin type...told her I was African American just incase she thought otherwise ( I get mixed, Native American and Hispanic alot....so..yea) and she said " OH! I know what would be good for you!" and showed me to Beaute De Koses' Esprique Precious skincare line. Never heard of it before and was a bit skeptical. This is a brand new makeup line..so the skin care line came soon after but has yet to gain publicity..so I was in for a treat I guess haha.

after giving me a lovely cleansing, toning and moisturizing experience.. I was in love...so I bought the Cleansing milk, toning lotion and light moisturizer...it didn't have sunscreen in it and the one that did was WOH expensive..so i"m sticking with my usual sunscreen enhanced moisturizer.

sorry about the pics guys..these were hard to find lol.

so..in conclusion..I think J products are pretty good...for me at least. It's all about research research research, asking questions and of course..trying the products..the most exciting thing is that both these lines are plant based..so no little baby sheep were hurt in the process..which is good for the soul.

I hope you all are doing fine, it's snowing in Tokyo right now......yeah..snowing....so there goes my hair -_-.

anyway, I would like to give a shot out to Michelle Carr...my Vegan sister..I love you girl and I hope you're doing well in ur first weeks of school!!!

ok..that is all for now..more updates coming soon.
