how doth the little busy bee...

Things have been pretty hectic and awesome these past couple weeks..I feel like I've been here almost a year and it's only been 3 weeks.

School is going good, just gotta make sure I balance all my classes and focus during the week...so I can continue to have these fun-filled weekends. going to Shibuya and Shinjuku is my absolute favorite thing to do..I've made a few friends in my journey through that maze of fashion addicts and city dwellers...I'm there almost 3 times a week..if not to pick something up, walk around..or check out quirky little shops. Me and a few buddies took purikura and went to a nice little eatery..that was fun..Kimchi is HUGE here..I'm in heaven!

Partying........oh....partying....it is SO fun! most of the clubs I've gone to have no entry fee...and they close about 6am...so you can imagine the sleep deprivation I experience on fridays. me and my dorm mates head to the clubs about 9am...most of us head home a couple hours later to catch the last train home..but..me and a few other brave souls..dance the night into the dawn...and catch the first train home...at 7am...go home and sleep till noon..vicious cycle but TONS of fun!
only downfall is the ciggarette smoke and booze constantly flowing..I've slipped on puddles of who-knows-what..and when I come home my clothes and hair wreek of ' club'..not a pretty smell..I do neither of these so.....it's a good reminder as to why I don't indulge in these things...they leave a terrible scent.

dangerous mystery club fog..

Other then that..Ive met tons of models, photographers and DJs in my clubbing endeavors..all very nice and living in Japan long term...all very fun people to hang with.

so far I love Japan...seems like I come alive at night moreso then the day..but such is young life..and I'm having a blast so far....more updates coming soon..sorry I've been lagging...
bye for now....

Japan Hardcore?

yes it does exist..and I was on a journey to find out where it comes to life.

I met up with my buddy David...lead of the band Everybody's Enemy whom is apparently a huge deal in the Tokyo hardcore scene. I had the oppurtunity to go to my first show in Japan which featured them and a few other bands at this venue called Flat in Nishi-Okikubou.

everyone was cool..lots of cigg smoke in the air but it's expected because well..this is Japan.

there were a few straight-edge people there..mostly non-japanese but it's good to know that they have a presence in Japan.

David told me how alot of shows in Japan aren't as heavy hitting as shows in the states..because I guess it's that Japanese sense of pride and not wanting to be the " nail that sticks out" but after a few drinks..that didn't seem to be the case with alot of people..which was super fun.

people came from miles away to see this guy pour Dr.Pepper down his face and bite the can apart.....that's intense. The venue was very small which is good in my opinion as it added to the intimacy of the band and the intensity of the show.

Everybodys' Enemy toured Indonesia recently...which introduced me to a few of their bands and this term..Inclusive Hardcore...hmmmm I plan to learn more about this...but it was pretty much the joining of indonesia and japans' hardcore scenes...( Jakarta x Tokyo from what I remember).

This show was alot of fun, I'm super happy my Sunday night ended with a bang..more updates soon as these aren't in order....but this was the most exciting to say the least.

more adventure reports to come as my life in Japan is moving moving moving....LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

So, Japan is amaaaazingu!

so yeah, I'm kinda loving life right now....after a short homesick shut-in, I'm finally content and happy with where I am.
my neighborhood is nice and serene with old people and young people and all in between..it's great.

I ventured out and did some grocery shopping and that was pretty fun...I like grocery shopping in Japan...and..I love Ichigo Daifuku!!!
it's soooo good.

for some Italian fare I went to this place called Italian Tomatoe down the street, the people were really nice and I didn't have a hard time telling them to exclude the meat and egg from me and my freinds dish..it was awesome.

I think my tummy is shrinking because I ate half of this small portioned meal..and gave my friend my salad...but it was still amazingly yum and I can't wait to go back...maybe today!

I heart my friends here too...they are funny and amazing and keep me happy in times of home sickness.
the one on the left is insane and my fashion guru..the one on the right is also Vegan and sweet as ever....
this one is hilarious ..she came to Japan with an eager mind to learn japanese and immerse herself in the culture..she's a sweetheart and I love teaching her things....she's Kosher and it was a bit daunting at first..but I think she'll be fine.

I've never known apple juice to be so amazing...but...wow.

so, I'm going to Shibuya today on my own..that should be lots of exciting fun so more pics coming soon!
